The former Arsenal and Chelsea striker sent the home fans into a frenzy after he restored Marseille's lead at Stade Velodrome on Thursday evening with a sensational strike just minutes into the second half. With the game locked at 2-2, Aubameyang took matters into his own hands and scored an acrobatic bicycle kick beating his marker Anton Gaaei to score his second of the three goals on the night.

Aubameyang was going through a mini-goal drought heading into this fixture as he had not scored for five consecutive games. But the striker showed no signs of rust on a crucial European night for Marseilles. He scored the opener by converting from the spot and then went on to add two more, including a late stoppage-time winner from 12 yards, to complete a European hat-trick.
