WHAT HAPPENED?
Luka Jovic rescued Milan a point against bottom of the table Salernitana in a 2-2 draw on Friday night. Now, according to Italian journalist Daniele Longo, the club's owners are 'furious' about the result, are frustrated about another injury, following Fikayo Tomori's muscle issue, and manager Pioli's future at the club is 'in the balance'. He adds these are now 'crucial hours' for the 58-year-old.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
This shock result means Pioli's side sit third in the league, eight points behind leaders Inter Milan. The Italian led Milan to the Serie A title in 2022 but they failed to win any trophies last season, they are off the pace at present in the title race, and they are out of the Champions League, too. Pioli may not be in the role for too much longer at this rate.
